For me the values course was life changing and life enhancing. I would highly recommend that everyone who does the boundaries course also goes that little deeper and does the values course. If you understand yourself better, and how that affects you professionally, it will enhance the service you give, or are employed to give, to others. It will also potentially change your life too!

Participants commented on the professional presentation of difficult subjects and how inclusive and containing the presenter was. The session helped counsellors to widen their viewpoints on boundary issues and raised many questions and much fruitful discussion. The day was very valuable.

I felt people were really affected by the learning, it’s not a subject that can easily be studied in such a profound way without the excellent facilitation and materials that Jonathan provided. One delegate described the training as “ life- changing” which really struck me as I had used exactly that phrase when I did the course a few months previously.

It has been a great course. As a student in mental health nursing I have learnt a lot and will apply it to practice. The facilitator engaged with us all the way, involved us in activities which made us aware of/think of our professional boundaries. Very good session. The facilitator has very good skills and is knowledgeable about the area. ”
Really useful to go through boundaries, their importance and discuss real examples. The film clip was great to illustrate the behaviours we’d discussed. Relevance to interaction with patients/colleagues much greater than I’d expected. The board game was a fun way to think through a range of scenarios, so much is in the detail. How to use self-disclosure effectively was particularly useful
